What are your problems – part 2

Chat

tl;dr – Your life is probably great that millions of people would wanna swap in an instant.

Scenario 1 – someone your age somewhere on this planet was told by their doctor that they have a terminal disease and have 6 more months to live. Would this person wanna swap lives with you?

Scenario 2 – someone your age somewhere on this planet lost their entire family in a car accident. Would this person wanna swap lives with you?

Scenario 3 – someone your age somewhere on this planet living in one of the war torn countries just got their house bombarded and lost everything they had. Would this person wanna swap lives with you?

I can go on but you get the point. There are probably millions of people right in this moment on this planet Earth who would do anything to swap lives with you. So, imagine for a second telling these people that hey, my problems include the stock market not doing well, or I didn’t get the next promotion although I totally deserved it, or I lost my job because Meta laid off 11k people, or I don’t have much luck in dating and can’t find my partner, or I have to go back to my home country because the immigration sucks in this country or whatever biggest problem you might have right now. Do you think the people in the three scenarios above wouldn’t wanna trade lives with you?

Alright, I provided extreme examples, I get that. But the point is that if you are reading this post you are probably already living someone else’s dream. And maybe something that you once dreamed of for yourself. But now that you are here, it’s human tendency to want more.

Take a moment and look around all that you have. I bet you have a good life that lots of people in the world would trade in a second.

The purpose of this post is not to downplay anyone’s problems but probably just a reminder to be really grateful for all that you have and not always take things for granted and complain about stuff that you don’t have.
