I graduated with a Master’s in Computer Science from Virginia Tech in May 2017. During my stay at VT, I also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Visionarium Lab at Virginia Tech. Dr. Nicholas F. Polys was my research advisor.
The topic of my Master’s thesis was “Remote High Performance Visualization of Big Data for Immersive Science” and you can read the abstract in the “RESEARCH” section. I will be uploading the research paper based on my thesis work that is due to be published next month.
I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering in 2013 from Jamia Millia Islamia. After completing my Bachelor’s degree, I worked for two years for GridMarkets helping them build a cloud rendering platform.
Between 2012 and 2015, I also worked on a couple of startups. One of them was Smurfers.com, an e-commerce company selling merchandise inspired by popular TV shows like Game of Thrones, etc. In retrospect, I do believe that though Smurfers didn’t work out as I had planned, it taught me a lot, much more than any other professional thing I have done till now. I do plan on starting another start-up sometime again but haven’t given it much thought as of today.
Currently, I am working full-time for NetApp in their big data group building solutions using Hadoop and Spark.
In my free time, I like playing badminton, reading, visiting new places, meeting new people, running, chess, football, gym, and learning about new things in general. The world is too big and we hardly get to do 1% of the things in the world. I have a huge bucket list of all sorts of weird things in it. On it! 🙂
On this website, you will find my complete biography, education, publications, research interests, hobbies and a blog that has some random stuff.
